SAN DIEGO — A marijuana delivery driver was shot and wounded in his right hand as he was robbed in North Park, authorities said Saturday.

The robbery was reported at 9:01 p.m. Friday in the 2000 block of Haller Street, said San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

The 21-year-old victim was stopped to make his delivery when the gunman approached his car and demanded marijuana. The driver grabbed the gun and during the struggle, he was shot twice in the right hand, Heims said.

The suspect took the marijuana and ran away in an unknown direction, according to Heims.

The victim drove himself to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Heims said.

The suspect was described as wearing all black clothing, a black beanie and a black bandana covering his face.
