Man struck, killed by driver in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A man was struck and killed by a motorist Saturday in Chula Vista.

The driver left the scene, but later returned while officers were investigating the fatality, according to a news statement from the Chula Vista Police Department.

It was not immediately known if the motorist was cited or arrested.

Officers were dispatched at 2:51 a.m. to the 400 block of Telegraph Canyon Road in response to several 911 calls reporting a man lying on the side of the street.

Officers arriving at the scene determined that the man was struck by a vehicle going eastbound on Telegraph Canyon Road. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chula Vista police asked anyone with information regarding the fatality crash to call them at (619) 691-5151.
