SAN DIEGO — A pedestrian was struck by a car early Friday on a dimly lit roadway in the Sabre Springs neighborhood.

The pedestrian was standing in the middle of Poway Road near Springhurst Drive for unknown reasons when he was hit by a westbound Infiniti sedan at around 3:15 a.m., San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said.

The victim, who is in his late 20s, suffered a broken arm and a broken leg in the crash and has been hospitalized, Cali said.

The 53-year-old man behind the wheel of the Infiniti was not suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and was not arrested, according to the officer.
