SAN DIEGO — A man was stabbed in Pacific Beach while trying to break up a squabble between a man and a woman, police said Monday.

The victim approached the bickering couple near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Mission Boulevard in an attempt to intervene shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.

However, the man involved in the conflict pulled out some type of sharp object and stabbed the victim once in his chest and once in the arm, then ran off with the woman. Delimitros said the victim’s wounds were not considered life-threatening.

Police described the suspect as a bald and heavyset Hispanic man in his 20s wearing a teal shirt and short pants.
