Man stabbed near North Park

SAN DIEGO — An 18-year-old man was stabbed two times in the Cherokee Point neighborhood east of North Park on Saturday afternoon, San Diego police said.

The victim was walking along the 3800 block of 40th Street when a male suspect approached him around 3:13 p.m. and instigated a fight. The victim was stabbed two times in the upper torso around 3:13 p.m., officials said. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

San Diego Police Mid City Detectives were investigating the incident.

The suspect was described by police as a black male about 16 to 18 years old wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. He was last seen running south along the 3700 block of 40th Street.
