SAN DIEGO — A 19-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen this morning during a fight outside a Dave and Buster’s in the Mission Valley area, police said.

It happened around 1:20 a.m. in the parking lot of the entertainment business on Camino Del Rio North, just north of Interstate 8, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.

The 19-year-old man was standing in front of the Dave and Buster’s talking to a group of women when another man, believed to be in his early 20s, walked up to him, Buttle said.

An argument ensued and escalated into a fight, during which the victim was stabbed at least once in the lower abdomen, the officer said.

The teen was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Buttle said.

The assailant fled in an unknown direction and no detailed suspect description was immediately available.

Detectives with the San Diego Police Department’s eastern division were investigating the stabbing.
