SAN DIEGO – A shooting in the Crown Point neighborhood of Pacific Beach left a man wounded and two possible suspects in custody Monday.

The gunfire in the area of Jewell Street and Roosevelt Avenue was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m., according to San Diego police.  The circumstances that led to the shooting were not released by police.

The nearby Crown Point Elementary School was not placed on lock down as students are out of school for the holidays.

Medics took the victim, whose identity was withheld, to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment of a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Around 2 p.m., Officer Josh Hodge said police were looking for three black men who drove away in a gray Dodge Charger. They were last seen heading southbound on Shasta toward Crown Point Drive.

Two hours later, two possible suspects were taken into custody for questioning in the late afternoon, Sgt. Lisa McKean said.

Police did not say whether or not they were still looking for a third suspect.
