SAN DIEGO — A man was wounded early Wednesday in a gang-related car-to-car shooting in the Stockton neighborhood.

One of five occupants of a Volkswagen Rabbit that pulled up behind the victim’s car at the intersection of 32nd Street and Island Avenue around 2:45 a.m. fired off five rounds, one of which struck the victim in the back, said San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

A “gang challenge” preceded the gunfire, he said.

Delimitros said the victim’s wound was not considered life-threatening.
