SAN DIEGO – Police were trying to find a man who ran off after being involved in a crash that sent a woman to the hospital early Monday.

The collision happened at about 3 a.m. at the intersection of Soledad Mountain Road and Garnet Avenue.

Two pickup crashed as one was making a turn onto southbound Soledad Mountain road and the other was traveling westbound on Garnet, police said. The Toyota truck driven by the man broadsided the pickup driven by a woman in her 30s. The male driver ran from the accident scene instead of rendering aid to the injured woman, police said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
