SAN DIEGO — Authorities released the name Wednesday of a 24-year-old man killed in a drive-by shooting in Lincoln Park.

Clarence Carllel of San Diego and another man were walking near the intersection of 47th Street and Logan Avenue when a red four-door car pulled up next to them about 10:45 p.m. Monday, according to police.

One of the two occupants of the vehicle yelled something and then opened fire, wounding Carllel several times in the upper body, Sgt. Manny Del Toro said. The vehicle then sped away to the east on Logan Avenue.

The victim collapsed in the middle of the roadway and died at the scene. His companion was uninjured.

No suspects in the case have been publicly identified.

“The investigation is continuing, and no arrests have been made,” Del Toro said Wednesday afternoon.
