SAN DIEGO — A man, possibly 40 to 50 years old, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Saturday in the Colina Del Sol community of San Diego.

A car traveling eastbound in the 4900 block of El Cajon Boulevard struck the pedestrian about 4:50 a.m. as he was walking north, crossing El Cajon Boulevard, according to San Diego police officer Frank Cali.

Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, Cali said.

The car was described as a 2009 to 2011 Honda Civic, possibly two-door with primer color, as well as front-end and windshield damage, he said. Its driver made a U-turn and it was last seen heading west on El Cajon Boulevard.

San Diego police asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at 858-484-3154.
