Man identified in double shooting in City Heights

SAN DIEGO – Police Sunday released the name of a man killed in a double shooting in City Heights.

Kenneth Williams, 31, of San Diego, was struck by gunfire in the 4100 block of Central Avenue about 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Officers responding to a call regarding multiple gunshots attempted to render first aid and called for paramedics, but were unsuccessful and Williams died at the scene.

One other person was also shot and was taken to a local hospital with injuries that authorities do not consider life-threatening.

Homicide detectives were investigating the incident. Gang Unit detectives were also assisting by exploring a possible gang connection.
