SAN DIEGO — Police found a woman and her roommate locked in a bedroom after a man broke into their Pacific Beach home early Monday.

The man broke into the residence on Grand Avenue near Olney Street around 5 a.m, San Diego Police Department said. The woman told officers a man in a dark hoodie climbed through her bedroom window and attacked her, but she was able to break away.

She ran to her roommate’s bedroom, where they locked the door and called 911. By the time police showed up, the man had run away. A detailed description was not immediately available.

Police said the woman was treated for minor injuries, including a bloody nose, but did not need to go to the hospital.

“I woke up this morning to take my dog out at 5am and this man about 6 feet tall in a hoodie was staring outside of my balcony just standing outside my door, said Lindsey Allen a recent graduate of SDSU.

Allen says she’s been reaching out to the police to detail her encounter.

“I watched him and he was staring at me the whole time, and he walked down the stairs and ran out into the alleyway somewhere. He looked like he was contemplating something I thought that he might commit suicide or something it looked like he was thinking about something serious,” said Allen

Lindsey says with out her dog barking she may have been a victim, but now she’s preparing.

“It’s crazy I want to get more locks for my apartment, I got a taser,” said Allen.
