POWAY, Calif. – Retired NFL star and San Diego legend LaDainian Tomlinson has listed his Poway mansion for sale at $3.495 million.
Tomlinson originally listed the home in 2011 for $5.2 million, but couldn’t get the right buyer.
The Heritage Estate mansion occupies more than 13 acres including a lagoon style swimming pool, basketball court, private theater and putting green.
Inside, vaulted ceilings, high archways, and exposed beams set the tone for the Mediterranean style oasis.
“Because him and his friends are all big guys and athletes … you have these big soaring ceilings,” said realtor Daniel Beer.
The home’s floor plan includes a built-in, floor to ceiling aquarium and a custom wine cellar.
In the living room, a bookcase can be moved to reveal a secret movie theater with stadium seating a real-life Ford mustang.
“Anybody who is a football is going to love this or a movie fan of course,” said Beer. “LT loved watching movies in here and studying his game plans.
The home 10,000 square foot home includes five bedrooms and five a half bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and formal dining area.
“They were famous for their Thanksgiving because they gave away a lot of turkeys and then they would celebrate with a big meal here,” said Beer.
Records indicate that Tomlinson paid $3.5 million for the home in November 2004.
