SAN DIEGO — Officials with Naval Base San Diego closed a gate onto base and warned traffic could be affected in the area after a series of water main breaks Wednesday.
Base officials said on Twitter that Gate 7 was closed around 11:30 a.m. as they responded to flooding caused by an undisclosed number of water main breaks. The response could also affect traffic on base and on Harbor Drive, officials warned.
Around 1:30 p.m., authorities said Gate 9 remains open to inbound and outbound traffic, but did not share further updates.
Authorities asked anyone on base to avoid the flooded areas while they dealt with the mess.
