Firefighters make progress on brush fire in East County

A fast-moving brush fire burning in East County Sunday has been stopped at 15 acres, according to San Diego County fire officials.

The fire, dubbed the “Queen Fire,” sparked around 1 p.m. near the Banner Queen Ranch area of Banner Grade.

Fire officials said air and ground resources have made “great progress” in stopping the flames from spreading. No buildings were threatened from the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
