EL CAJON, Calif. — Firefighters worked to put out flames at an El Cajon home Friday as the fire spread to multiple structures on the property.

Firefighters were called to a home on Avocado Avenue and Avenida Abajo around 5:45 a.m. Flames and smoke could still be seen coming from the area by 6:30 a.m.

The fire spread to multiple sheds or garages on the property, which was unoccupied. Video showed Heartland Fire & Rescue and San Miguel firefighters working to get control of the flames.
