SPRING VALLEY, Calif. — A SWAT standoff Saturday in Spring Valley ended with the man deputies were looking for still at large, authorities said.
Around 3:48 p.m., deputies received a call about a domestic violence incident in the 8900 block of Spring Place in Spring Valley, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said during an argument with his wife, Mario Sandoval, 32, threatened her with a gun and would not allow her to leave. The woman was able to escape and contacted deputies.
Deputies arrived and evacuated nearby residents. A SWAT team responded to the home around 8:30 p.m.
“After several unsuccessful attempts to contact Sandoval inside the home, the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT) was utilized to search the home, but Sandoval was not located,” the sheriff’s department said in a news release.
Authorities urged anyone who knows where Sandoval may be to call 9-1-1 or the Sheriff’s non-emergency line at 858-565-5200.
“Sandoval is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public,” authorities said.
