SAN DIEGO — Police on Friday are investigating a shooting in City Heights that resulted in an 18-year-old man being taken to the hospital, authorities said.
Around 3:53 p.m., police received a call about the gunfire at 44th Street and Orange Avenue, located a few blocks from Herbert Hoover High School, according to the San Diego Police Watch Commander.
SDPD confirmed Herbert Hoover High School was not placed on lockdown.
The school’s campus police told authorities they found the victim who was shot twice. His injuries were later determined to be non-life threatening.
During their investigation, police learned the argument involved a group of about 10 people and several shots fired. Authorities believe there may be other victims, as well as witnesses they’d like to speak to, and are hoping those people will come forward.
