SAN DIEGO – Lifeguards rushed to the aid of a stranded surfer off the coast of Point Loma Monday evening.
The initial report stated two surfers were missing, but San Diego Lifeguards later determined one person was in distress around 5:45 p.m. south of Ladera Street. A rescue helicopter crew was called to pluck the stranded surfer from the rocky shore of Point Loma.
A high surf advisory was issued along the San Diego County coast through Tuesday evening.
