SAN DIEGO — A man who fled San Diego last year and changed his appearance to avoid being prosecuted for molesting three young relatives nine years ago was convicted Monday of multiple counts of committing a lewd act on a child.
Patrick Pawlicki, 63, faces life in prison when he is sentenced Jan. 9 by Superior Court Judge Louis Hanoian.
The Santa Ysabel resident was convicted of molesting two girls and one boy between November 2003 and February 2004, said Deputy District Attorney Dino Paraskevopoulos.
Pawlicki fled San Diego County last year after being charged. A bail bonds company hired a bounty hunter to track down Pawlicki, and he was arrested at a hotel in Jonesboro, Ga. after an anonymous tip.
Investigators said Pawlicki lost 50 pounds and had dyed his gray hair, eyebrows and mustache brown and had plans to go to Miami to board a cargo ship headed for China.
