SAN DIEGO — A tractor-trailer jackknifed and landed on its side in the North County early Monday, blocking most of southbound Interstate 15 at state Route 56 during the morning commute, authorities said.
Initially, officers closed lanes 3-6 but kept the two left lanes open to traffic. HOV lanes normally reserved for carpoolers and FasTrak users were open to all motorists while crews worked to clean up the wreckage.
By 8 a.m., the CHP had opened lane 3 to traffic, but traffic had backed up to Deer Springs Road and was moving at single-digit speeds. The cleanup was expected to continue until at least 10 a.m.
There were no immediate reports of injury.
