SAN DIEGO – The little-known American “holiday” National Leave The Office Early Day may take some employers by surprise Tuesday.
Bosses might need some extra convincing to let employees go early, but there’s a good reason why they might consider it.
According to Yahoo, the day was created by Employee Productivity Specialist Laura Stack, an American public speaker who suggested the need for employees to not spend as much time in the office in 2005, and chose June 2.
Stack expressed the holiday shouldn’t be used as a day to do less work, but as a way to encourage workers to be more efficient.
If you don’t get the okay from your boss, at least you can celebrate a second “holiday” Tuesday – it’s also National Rotisserie Chicken Day.
