Homeless man beats apartment manager with bat

SAN DIEGO – Police were looking for a homeless man suspected of beating an apartment manager with a baseball bat in North Park.

The apartment manager was checking on the property just before 3 a.m. on the 4000 block of Oregon Street, when he came across the homeless man. When he asked the transient to leave, the homeless man grabbed a baseball bat from the manager’s truck and hit him with it a couple times, investigators said.

The manager was taken to the hospital with a leg injury, police said.

The homeless man was last seen wearing blue shorts and a white shirt. No further description was available.
