SAN DIEGO – A helicopter came to the rescue Monday after a group of hikers got stuck on Black Mountain when one of them had a medical emergency, San Diego police said.

The hikers made it to the top of the mountain around 10:15 p.m. when one of the hikers severely cut his hand. Rescuers were unable to reach the hikers on the ground, opting instead to use  a helicopter to quickly reach the hikers.

The three hikers boarded the chopper, which brought them to a parking lot where an ambulance was waiting. The injured hiker was treated at the scene and did not go to the hospital.
