CHULA VISTA, Calif. — Students and faculty at Castle Park High School may have been exposed to tuberculosis, county health officials said Thursday.
A person at the school was recently diagnosed with active TB, officials with the county Health and Human Services Agency said. The exposure period was from July 23 to Sept. 3, HHSA officials said.
Free TB testing for students who may have been exposed is scheduled for Oct. 8 at the school at 1395 Hi8lltop Drive.
Symptoms of TB include a persistent cough, fever, night sweats and unexplained weight loss, according to the HHSA. So far this year, 122 cases have been reported in the county. In 2013, the HHSA reported 206 cases.
