SAN DIEGO – Two people were in the hospital Monday morning after a head-on crash in Lincoln Park, the San Diego Police Department said.

A driver was heading south in his Ford Mustang on 47th Street when a Chevy S-10 veered into his lanes. The 26-year-old driver of the Chevy slammed head first into the Mustang at the 700 block of South 47th Street at 10:13 p.m., police said.

The driver of the Chevy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of the Mustang sustained minor injuries. Both vehicles were severely damaged.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
