Shooting near local sports complex wounds one

SAN DIEGO -- A shooting near the Willie Henderson Sports Complex in the Mountain View area left one person wounded Friday.

Police were called to 45th Street and Logan Avenue after people reported hearing gunshots around 12:45 p.m., according to San Diego police.

Officers searching the area found a trail of blood, then located a 22-year-old man who had been shot three times. The victim was found in the 800 block of West Street, a short distance from the city park. Medics took him to UCSD Medical Center for treatment.

Police say a group of men ran away from the scene of the attack and that the suspected shooter is an 18 to 22-year-old Hispanic man with curly red hair.
