SAN DIEGO — A masked gunman broke into a home in the College Area Friday, surprising a 36-year-old woman in a wheelchair and her caregiver.

The home invasion robbery in the 5100 block of 67th Street was reported at 8:23 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.

“The suspect demanded items,” Cali said without elaboration.

Police described the suspect as 32 to 35 years old, 6-feet to 6-feet-3 inches tall, 250-270 pounds, with brown hair and a scruffy beard. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants, and he fled in a white vehicle, Cali said.
