Gas prices drop to lowest point since August

SAN DIEGO – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased Saturday for the 33rd consecutive day, falling 1.7 cents to $3.875, the lowest amount since Aug. 7.

The average price has dropped 85 cents over the past 33 days, including 1.9 cents on Friday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725 on Oct. 8, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 13 cents less than one week ago and 83.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 2.6 cents more than one year ago.
