SAN DIEGO — A natural gas leak forced several Otay Mesa residents to evacuate from their homes Thursday night.
The incident was reported at 8:17 p.m. in the 1200 block of Riviera Pointe Street, just east of Interstate 805 and north of Interstate 905, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
City crews were repairing a water line when they hit a two-inch natural gas pipe, fire officials said.
At least seven homes were evacuated and residents of at least 11 homes were told to shelter in place.
