SAN DIEGO — A dead man was found floating in the ocean off South Mission Beach Friday afternoon.
A kayaker made the discovery just outside the surf line shortly before 2:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The unidentified body appeared to have been in the water for “quite some time,” SDFRD Capt. Joe Amador said.
The county Medical Examiner’s Office was called in to take custody of the remains.

Lifeguards are recovering a body found floating outside the surf at Mission Beach. It appears that the body has been in the water for days.
