Firefighters called to gas leak in La Jolla

LA JOLLA, Calif. — A contractor digging in La Jolla hit a gas line Tuesday morning, causing a leak.

The leak happened around 9:23 a.m. at a construction site in the 3500 block of Voigt Drive. San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crews directed traffic while San Diego Gas & Electric workers repaired the leak.

A fire truck, five fire engines, and one medic were assigned to the leak. Firefighters did not report any injuries.
