Firefighters keep freeway brush fires from spreading

SAN DIEGO — Firefighters  quickly got the upper hand on several small brush fires burning along a North County freeway Monday.

The fires were reported at around 2 p.m. along the northbound I-15 near Mission Road.

According to Cal Fire, there were four separate fires. Firefighters got them under control in about 30 minutes. In all, about three acres burned.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
