EL CAJON, Calif. — An abandoned El Cajon police station burned before dawn Sunday.

Firefighters got the call at 3:30 a.m. Sunday for a two-alarm fire at 100 Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon, a former El Cajon Police station, Heartland Fire & Rescue said.

The fire started in the building’s basement and was knocked down relatively quickly. The cause of the blaze was under investigation, HFR said.
