CARLSBAD, Calif. — One person is dead after a fire erupted in a two-story condominium complex in Carlsbad Tuesday night.

The incident began at 8:15 p.m. on the 2300 block of Caringa Way.

Several surrounding condominiums were affected by the heavy smoke.
