SAN DIEGO - Two dogs were rescued from a burning house in Point Loma Tuesday.
The non-injury blaze in the 3800 block of Wildwood Road erupted about 12:40 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Neighbors saw the smoke coming from the attic and called the fire department.
Engine crews rescued two dogs while subduing the flames, which took just under an hour, SDFRD Capt. Joe Amador said. The homeowner was at work when the fire sparked, investigators said.
Investigators were unable to determine the precise cause of the fire, though they decided that it was accidental in origin and probably related to an electrical malfunction, the captain said.
The displaced residents -- a woman and her two teenage children -- were able to arrange for interim lodging without assistance from the American Red Cross.
