SAN DIEGO — It took firefighters about 20 minutes to subdue a fire that tore through a garage at a Bay Park home late Friday afternoon.

The non-injury blaze in the 5000 block of Gardena Avenue broke out shortly before 5 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

The cause was under investigation, SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson said.
