OCEANSIDE, Calif. — Firefighters halted the progress of a brush fire in Oceanside shortly after 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.

The fire, which was reportedly burning near several businesses on Crouch Street at Skylark Drive, started after 12 p.m. and burned about four acres before firefighters stopped its progress.

Oceanside Fire officials said they expected it would take another hour to finish cleaning up the area.
