SAN DIEGO – An 82-year-old woman was recovering Tuesday morning after two men held her down while burglarizing her home in La Jolla, police said.

At least two men broke through a window in the woman’s home on Rodeo Drive near La Jolla Mesa Drive just after 11:30 p.m. Monday, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said. The woman heard noises inside her home and discovered the burglars when she went to investigate.

One of the men tore a necklace off her neck and held her back while at least one other man rifled through her belongings, Delimitros said. It was unclear what was stolen besides the necklace.

No description of the burglars was available.
