NATIONAL CITY, Calif. – A man was in jail Wednesday morning on felony charges after leading police on a chase through National City.

The driver of a white Toyota Echo pulled over when police got behind him on Potomac Road near Munda Road at 8:20 Tuesday night but then took off and led police on a short chase.

The pursuit ended when the driver ditched his car in a dead end in the Paradise Hills neighborhood. The 34-year-old driver jumped out and ran away, but police quickly caught up and arrested him.

He was taken to the hospital after complaining of an unknown injury. Police eventually arrested him for felony evading and speeding.
