SOLANA BEACH, Calif. –Three days after rocking Petco Park at the kickoff to their Zipcode tour, the Rolling Stones gave an invitation-only concert at the Belly Up Tavern Wednesday night.
Dozens of Rolling Stones fans lined up outside the intimate Solana Beach music club after learning about the private concert. Buzz about the event surfaced Sunday evening. Fans lined up outside the small music venue were holding out hope Wednesday to catch a glimpse of Mick Jagger.
“I heard from a couple friends that the Stones will be performing tonight and by the looks of it around here it’s seems very likely,” said Scott Beckley of San Diego. “I got down here as quick as I could – I even left some clients to get down here.”
By 1:30 p.m., the fans waiting outside the ticket office were asked to disperse.

The Belly Up website did not have any shows scheduled on their event calendar for Wednesday. Also, Belly Up made no mention of anything on their social media accounts about the Rolling Stones concert.
The Stones remained in San Diego County after their sold-out Petco concert to play for a private birthday party at the Belly Up Wednesday night, a source told FOX5. Their crew moved equipment into the venue at 6 a.m. Wednesday. Later that evening, a FOX 5 videographer taped Mick Jagger and Ronnie Woods as they entered the Belly Up through a back entrance. Keith Richards was hanging out in the RV parked outside the Belly Up, the source told FOX5.
Cell phone photos taken inside the club at 9:16 p.m. showed a packed venue. Jagger and Richards were clearly visible on the stage.
