Dog bites girl’s face on Pacific Beach boardwalk

SAN DIEGO – A 3-year-old girl was attacked by a dog on the boardwalk outside a popular Pacific Beach restaurant late Monday morning, authorities said. The child was bitten on the cheek outside World Famous restaurant at 4111 Ocean Boulevard just after 11 a.m., San Diego police said. According to the Department of Animal Services, the girl asked whether she could pet the 4-year-old catahoula leopard dog.  The man walking the dog said it was okay, but when the little girl reached out, the dog bit her.
The girl was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital with minor injuries to her cheek, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department official said. the girl was not going to be taken to the hospital. The dog, which was on a leash, will be in quarantine for the next 10 days, which is standard procedure.
