CUYAMACA, Calif. — Smoke may be visible over areas in Cuyamaca and Julian Tuesday as firefighters and state parks personnel carry out a brush-clearing operation in the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.

A prescribed burn is scheduled for 60 acres in the park’s Fern Flat area off state Route 79 between Lookout and Pipeline roads from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to Capt. Mike Mohler of Cal Fire.

Mohler said smoke would be visible in the nearby communities of Julian and Cuyamaca throughout the day.
