SAN DIEGO — Crews with San Diego Fire-Rescue Department extinguished a house fire Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported around 2:45 a.m. at a single-story home in the 4200 block of Dakota Drive, in the Bay Park area. The flames were out within 15 minutes.

No one was home when the fire broke out in the attic, SDFRD spokeswoman Monica Munoz said. The house was currently under construction for a remodeling project.

The cause had yet to be determined as of 8:30 a.m. The total amount of damage was estimated at $650,000, Munoz said.
