Crews battle brush fire in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Firefighters were battling a four-acre brush fire in Carlsbad Friday morning.

The fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. along Palomar Airport Road near Palomar Oaks.

According to the Carlsbad Police Department, Palomar Airport Road going eastbound will be shut down from College Avenue and westbound Palomar Airport Road from El CAmino Real until further notice.

Carlsbad police said a nearby construction site and commercial building were evacuated as a precaution.

By 12:35 p.m., police said the fire had been contained. No injuries or structural damage resulted from the fire.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
