Reports of the fallen crane at 40 Worth Street came in around 8:24 a.m. Friday.
One person died at the scene. Three others were injured by falling debris.
According to the NYC Fire Wire, the person who died at the scene was inside their vehicle when the crane collapsed.
The Offwireice of Emergency Management tweeted to expect traffic due to a “construction accident.”
Worth Street is closed between Church Street and West Broadway.
