SAN DIEGO – Police officers issuing a warrant to a resident in Pacific Beach resulted in an hours-long SWAT standoff Sunday morning.

San Diego police went to a home on Pacific Beach Drive near Gresham Street around 11:20 p.m. Saturday. When an officer approached a home the situation turned into a “barricade incident” prompting the SWAT team to be called.

The home was damaged after SDPD officers used a Bearcat to gain access to the home.  When they entered, they did not find the suspect.

Officers were seen leaving the area just before 6 a.m. Sunday, but did not say if they were searching elsewhere for the suspect.

The suspect’s name and what the warrant was regarding were not released.
