SAN DIEGO – The Chargers added wide receiver Malcom Floyd and pass rusher Dwight Freeney to the injured-reserve list Tuesday sidelining them for the rest of the season.

Malcom Floyd Talks About Neck InjuryFloyd suffered a scary neck injury during San Diego’s win over Philadelphia Eagles on September 15.  He was carted off the field on a stretcher following a hard hit by Philadelphia’s DeMeco Ryans and Nate Allen on the first play after halftime.

Floyd had hoped to come back this season, but apparently, he has not progressed well enough.

This marks the fourth straight season that Floyd has failed to play a full 16-game schedule due to injuries.

The Chargers announced Tuesday that Floyd and Freeney, who suffered a quad injury during the Dallas Cowboys game, were placed on IR.

The team added wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins and offensive linebacker Thomas Keiser to the active roster from the practice squad.
