CARLSBAD, Calif. — Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar and musician Ben Harper will help the Legoland California Resort turn on its lights for the 2014 holiday season this evening.
Gellar, an Emmy-winner best known for her lead role in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” will throw a switch along with her two children and Santa Claus to light a 30-foot-tall “tree” made of Duplo bricks, and decorated by 400 Lego ornaments.
Harper, who will perform at the 12th annual event, is preparing to launch a concert tour in March.
Legoland officials plan to donate $10,000 on behalf of Gellar to Baby Buggy Inc., a charity that works with a network of more than 100 organizations to distribute new and gently-used cribs, baby bottles, cribs and clothing to families.
Another Legoland donation of $10,000 will go to the Tony Hawk Foundation, which provides skate parks for youth in low-income communities across the U.S. Harper sits on the foundation’s board.
